IMPLEMENTATION OF GREEN MEASURES TO PROTECT AIR QUALITY IN ZDIBY

Welcome to the website of the Zdiby Municipality project, which focuses on improving the air quality and the overall environment in our beautiful municipality. Thanks to generous financial support from the Norway Grants 2014-2021 and the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic, we are implementing two large-scale initiatives to improve the quality of life and well-being in our community.

One of the main measures is the planting of more than 15,000 trees and woody plants at 13 locations along the village’s spine road and at 8 locations in other parts of the village. By taking this step, we are taking an active role in improving air quality, which is proving to have a positive impact on the environment and the health of residents.

We are aware that the success of the project lies not only in the measures themselves, but also in regular public information and school involvement. Therefore, we actively communicate with citizens to share important information about the importance of planting and the benefits to our community. Working with our schools helps us to ensure that future generations are better informed about conservation and its importance.

The total grant support for the project is CZK 18,706,662 and the project duration is set at 12 months, with a start date of 15 August 2023 and an end date of 30 April 2024.

Our project is a direct follow-up to the successful „TENT AIR“ initiative, which focuses on air quality monitoring along the TEN-T route Ústí nad Labem – Mělník – Zdiby. Thanks to our involvement in TENT AIR, we have gained valuable knowledge and evidence not only for our current initiative, but also for future activities leading to the improvement of life in the village.

The main strategic document on which the project is based is the PROGRAMME FOR IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF AIR – Zone CZ02 – Central Bohemia, which was issued by the Ministry of Environment.

We believe that with this project we will take a step in the right direction to protect the environment and improve air quality not only for us but also for future generations. The issue of air pollution has long been a priority environmental protection topic for us. Our efforts are focused on concrete measures that will deliver real results.
